MY POETRY

WE HAVE TO CHANGE THE WIND IN THE SAILS

HAY QUE CAMBIARLE EL VIENTO A LAS VELAS…

Imagen de interior

WE HAVE TO CHANGE THE WIND IN THE SAILS

We have to change the wind in the sails

So that the boat reaches a good port

They will say we are crazy

Because this boat is one hell of a boat

But a few people here and few more there

Are going to change the wind in the sails

We have to change the wind in the sails

Because the powerful storm can´t destroy our boat

With the most furious tusk

You have to live. Live!

Don´t be so apathetic

Just come and change the wind in the sails

We have to change the wind in the sails

Sailing with a fair wind, it´s a woman

In rain or in thunder the ship is still leaving

Because you can´t stop this ship

Not even the big pirate banker

Just come and change the wind in the sails

We have to change the wind in the sails

Our flag is streaming on the top

Two cannon fires are our warning

We aren´t pigeons so keep your crumbs

And your lies and old jewelry

We have to change the wind in the sails

THE WATER

The water which flows belongs by natural law

to all of us

Ancient precept of the Digest

Was it raining

When Satie created the first gymnopedie?

One

     Drop

       Wets

                 The leaf

                                                                    With impressionistic music

Now the rain from Valparaíso

Kissing my shadow a night in July

Going up the stairs

In the direction of the roofs

The water heads down searching for the sea

Like the old man searching for his wine

On a balcony a poet hasn´t slept at all

Trying to find a verse

While the water keeps searching for the sea

Like the lover

Searching for his love

Was it raining

In the streets of Paris when Cortazár invented the magic woman?

A

                    Window

                                                  Is opening up

                                                                                Listening to jazz music

In the background you can hear an eclipse of a trumpet

And I softly caress your transparent slip

Drop by drop

                           In this night without exit

                                   In this port without remedy

Searching for the ship of your sex

Now I´m the water searching for the sea

THE SAILOR’S HAIKU

Man overboard!

You always have to get wet

To be happy

***

Valparaíso

Let me touch your breasts

And get drunk

***

Valparaíso

I will sleep on your shore

On a green Friday

***

Valparaíso

To your port I happily travel

Every night

***

Valparaíso

At Punta de Angeles

I´ll make love

***

Muse of Havana

Dance your

son of love

With the ghosts

***

You Barcelona

So crazy and so good

Blue and red

***

Gothenburg is

A port of blue trams

Wind in the sails

***

Gothenburg is

The endless wind

                                                                                             In my hair

POETRY

Oh, poetry, what is world without poetry?

And what are we?

In another world a beggar gives charity, a beggar gives charity

To a millionaire

Satie and the wine, my friends of conspiracy

Who prolong the elixir of the green dawn

Follow me one more time in my labour as a sailor of poetry

Bolaño, the captain, will guide the course of this infrarealistic boat

With Larsson as one of the crew

Two young men aged fifty smoking a pipe at the bow

Sailors! All hands on deck!

Lift the anchors!

The sinister night will be cut by our sun sword

On the other side of the world

Glory and wine are waiting for us

We will be a byzantine dromon

A Viking drakkar

A Gloire

A schooner

A frigate in flames

Poetry is not a joke

It explodes like a cannon of love!
